We stayed for two weeks at Annie's beautiful home in Abjat-sur-Bandiat and couldn't have been happier. The setting is glorious with a large enclosed garden area which was perfect for our small dog (who can be a bit of an "explorer" if left to his own devices) but we never felt concerned about letting him wander, and a stunning pool, ideal for the three smaller children we had with us. The house itself was a generous size for the nine of us and never felt cramped, with plenty of indoor space and very comfortable rooms.There was plenty to do nearby, with local markets running through the week (the one in Piegut-Pluviers being a particular favourite). The lake in St Esteph was fantastic for tiring the kids out, and had the bonus of free use of canoes and paddle boards. Angouleme, Périgueux and Limoges were all within easy driving distance and all stunning cities in their own way, all very different. The two weeks we were there had something for everyone.I can highly recommend the house and location.
