Our House does not have a name as it always seems to have been there - it dates back to the 16th Century, having originally been the Presbytery for the village church next door.  The house is located on the Place du Temps Jadis - roughly translating as the Place that Time Forgot.  It has recently undergone full but sympathetic refurbishment to bring it up to the 21st C with new bathrooms & kitchen, whilst keeping its character and many of the fascinating original features.    The house has been decorated with great care, using an eclectic mix of antiques and objet d'arts to make a relaxed, charming home emanating rustic grandeur.  To the rear is a large, enchanting, garden with private pool.

The house is in the village of Abjat-sur-Bandiat, listed in Bentley's Most Beautiful Villages of the Dordogne and in 2023 The Daily Telegraph put Abjat in it's top 20 villages in France.  Surrounded by stunning, unspoilt countryside it is in the perfect location to experience rural France at it's most beautiful and to explore this historic and spectacular area.
